as Jack Kelly

Reece is beyond excited to be carrying the banner! It truly is a dream come true to be performing in this role. He has recently been seen on the Hale stage in My Fair Lady (Ensemble) and Titanic: The Musical (Ensemble). as Katherine Plumber

Brie is elated to be a part of this beautiful production. Most noted for her recent Hale Theatre work: Titanic: The Musical (Kate McGowan), Sh-Boom! Life Could Be A Dream (Lois Franklin), Beauty and the Beast (Belle), 42nd Street (Peggy Sawyer), Bye Bye Birdie (Kim MacAfee), Lucky Stiff (Annabel Glick), and Brigadoon (Meg Brockie). Other: The Secret Garden (Martha), Seussical (Cat in the Hat) KCACTF Irene Ryan Participant and two-time ariZoni nominee. Truman Regard-Whipple
as Crutchie

Truman is honored to be taking the Hale stage again! He is excited to be a part of this production after recently being seen in Kiss and Tell, My Fair Lady, Fiddler on the Roof, and Bye Bye Birdie. He looks forward to bringing his best to this role, while performing alongside such a wonderful cast and crew. He would also like to thank the directing team for making this show possible!

Kale Burr
as Davey / Jack Kelly u.s.

Kale is thrilled to return to the Hale stage! He was most recently seen in Kiss and Tell (Lieutenant Lenny Archer). Favorite Hale credits: Sh-Boom! Life Could Be A Dream (Duke Henderson), Footloose (Ren McCormack), and West Side Story (Riff). Other favorites: Newsies (Jack Kelly), RENT (Roger), The Secret Garden (Dickon), and The Music Man in Concert (Tommy Djilas). Kale can also be seen on-screen in ads with the NFL, Harkins Theaters, and Arlo Security. He expresses his endless gratitude to the cast, creative team, and his friends and family for their never-ending support.

Benicio "Beni" Bermudez
as Les

Beni is so happy to be back at Hale. Previous Hale credits include Beauty and the Beast (Chip) and Bye Bye Birdie (Randolph MacAfee). He was most recently seen in Scrooge! (Tiny Tim, ATC). When not performing, Beni enjoys making stop motion lego movies, puppeteering, and perfecting his best Elvis impersonation. He would like to thank his family, Lee Meschino, Nichole Jensen, East Valley Children's Theatre, Cambrian, Lincoln, the Dietleins, and everyone at Hale for being so kind to him. Jacob Vella
as Les

Jacob is thrilled to be sharing the stage with this amazing cast of performers! In 2019, Jacob saw Hale's production of Newsies and has dreamt of being a part of it ever since. Jacob has appeared in: Mary Poppins, Freaky Friday, The Adams Family, The Little Mermaid, and in 2023 was a featured singer in Hits! The Musical, a national tour.

Taylor Hudson
as Joseph Pulitzer

Taylor is thrilled to return to Hale as the antagonist once again! He's enjoyed the many great roles he's been allowed to play over the years, especially: A Man of No Importance (Alfie), Bright Star (Mayor Dobbs), Shrek (Shrek), and enjoyed brief internet fame during the Bridgerton Musical craze on TikTok. Kieara Kurtz-Williams
as Medda Larkin

Kieara is thrilled to be making her debut at Hale after working behind the scenes as an understudy. She's recently directed Sweeney Todd (AYT) and Little Shop of Horrors (MET). She also appeared in The Spongebob Musical (Sandy, MCC) last summer. She is excited to be back on stage and is thankful to Cambrian, Lincoln and the producers for this opportunity. She would also like to extend a HUGE thanks to her amazingly supportive family, especially her husband Max and daughter Kaia. "Hope you enjoy the show!"

Adam Guinn

Adam is thrilled to be a part of Newsies. This show has been a pleasure to prepare for and he can’t wait to see how audiences react to this cast of ridiculously talented folks. Noah is thrilled to be returning to the Hale stage! Payten McLeod
as Oscar Delancey / Spot

Payten is gratefully returning to the Hale stage! Previous Hale credits include: No, No, Nanette, Freaky Friday, Footloose, Fiddler on the Roof, and My Fair Lady. He was also recently seen as a Newsie in Theater Works’s production in 2023. Cameron Rollins
as Snyder / Guard

Cameron is thrilled to be returning for a second time in Newsies! He is a two time AriZoni nominated actor (The Scarlet Pimpernel, Bright Star), former United States Marine, and full time video editor, streamer, and content creator. He has recently been seen in Beauty and the Beast (Gaston) and Titanic: The Musical (J. Bruce Ismay). He wants to thank his wife Veronica for her constant support and Dave and Corrin for the opportunity to perform at the Hale!

Raymond Barcelo
as Mayor / Wiesel / Mr. Jacobi / Bunsen

Raymond is a Los Angeles native where he appeared in Les Miserables (Thenardier) and Man of La Mancha. Favorite Hale credits include: Titanic (Edgar Beane), Beauty and the Beast (Cogsworth), The Andrews Brothers, The Little Mermaid (Scuttle/ Chef), The Addams Family (Fester), Hello, Dolly! Ava Cusiter
as Female Ensemble / Nun / Bowery / Splasher

Ava is thrilled to perform another musical on the Hale stage! Her favorite Hale credits include: 42nd Street (Phyllis Dale) and Beauty and the Beast (Silly Girl). Other credits include: A Chorus Line (Judy Turner) and Saturday Night Fever (Doreen) at The Laguna Playhouse. Diana Stapley

Diana is ecstatic to be back on the Hale Stage in one of her all time favorite shows! Previous HCT credits include: Steel Magnolias (Shelby), My Fair Lady, A Christmas Carol, and Beauty and the Beast. Outside of theatre, she is currently pursuing her Bachelor's degree at ASU. Diana expresses immense gratitude to Corrin, Dave, Cambrian, and Lincoln, as well as the entire cast and crew for making this process such a delight.

Sarah Cleeland
as Female Ensemble / Nun / Bowery / Mush / Katherine Plumber u.s.

A St. Louis native, Sarah moved to Tempe in 2019 and has performed at several theatres and ensembles around the valley since. Her favorite credits include: The Marvelous Wonderettes (Betty Jean), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Jolene) and, most recently, My Fair Lady (Mrs. Hopkins / Mrs. Eynsford-Hill). "Congratulations to this incredible cast and my fellow Newsettes. Extra special thanks to Ponce, the best husband and friend a girl could ask for."

Jenina Gallaway
as Hannah / Nun / Medda Larkin u.s.

An Arizona District Winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions, Gallaway holds degrees in music from Azusa Pacific University (BA), Cal State Northridge (MM), and will complete the DMA (University of Arizona) this fall. Professional theatre credits include: The Secret Garden (Alice), Into the Woods (Cinderella's Mother) and Amazing Grace (Nana). Favorite operatic credits include: Porgy and Bess (Serena), Suor Angelica (Suor Angelica) and Die Fledermaus (Rosalinda). She teaches K-8 music and drama, and is an adjunct professor at Grand Canyon University.

Joshua South
as Race

Joshua is excited to fulfill a dream show! He was most recently scene in: Titanic: The Musical (Hartley/Ensemble), Fiddler on the Roof (Fyedka) and Beauty and the Beast (LeFou). As a fan of the movie growing up, Joshua is grateful to bring this experience to life on stage. Reegan Regard-Whipple
as Elmer

Reegan is thrilled to be making his Hale debut as a Newsie and is grateful for the chance to return to the stage. This show has been a favorite of his since he first fell in love with the world of theatre, and he is honored to to get to work with this wonderful cast and crew. Brandt Norris
as Specs / Davey u.s. / Dance Captain

Brandt is thrilled to be back on this stage for his 14th Hale production! Five years ago he made his Hale debut in Newsies (Specs) at age 16 and is over the moon to be reviving this role. Previous Hale credits include: 42nd Street (Billy Lawlor), Beauty and the Beast (Lumiere), Sh-Boom! Life Could Be A Dream (Wally), and My Fair Lady (Freddy Eynsford-Hill). Regional credits include: Mystic Pizza (Ensemble/Tim Understudy) at the Engeman and Footloose (Teen Ensemble) at the St. Louis Muny. He wants to thank his friends, family, and boyfriend for always supporting him. He also wants to thank Cambrian, Lincoln, Corrin, and Dave for giving him this special opportunity!

Jeremy Cruz
as Finch / Dance Captain

Jeremy was most recently here in the quartet of My Fair Lady. Other Hale credits: Beauty and the Beast (Ensemble Swing), 42nd Street, Sister Act, Brigadoon, Mary Poppins, Newsies (2019), Singin in the Rain, Big Fish, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Little Mermaid, Aida, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, West Side Story, and Anything Goes.

Albert Mendoza
as Albert

Albert is excited to be making his Hale debut! He was most recently seen in Anastasia (Dmitry) at East Valley Children's Theatre where he also originated The Clumsy Princess (Rydell). In addition to acting, he has performed in Christian Dance Company’s Spirit of Christmas for 6 years. "Thanks to family, friends and teachers for everything!"

Jacob Currie
as Tommy Boy

Jacob wants the world to know he is thrilled to return to the Hale stage! He is currently earning a BA in Dance with a minor in Theatre at Grand Canyon University. He is a 3x Arizoni Award recipient. Favorite credits include: Hale’s 42nd Street and Bye Bye Birdie (Ensemble), Ethington’s Mary Poppins (Bert), Theaterworks’ Matilda (Rudolpho), CYT Phoenix’s Singin’ in The Rain (Don), Beauty and The Beast (Lumiere), and Peter and The Starcatcher (Black Stache).

Bennett Allen Wood
as Romeo

Bennett is thrilled to finally be a part of his dream show at his favourite theater! This is Bennett’s sixteenth Hale production and third this year. Additional credits include: Fly More Than You Fall (World Premiere, Broadway World Winner), RENT (Angel), Into the Woods (Jack), and Nevermore (Edgar Allan Poe). Bennett would love to thank his family and friends for their endless love and support, Dave, Corrin, Cambrian, Lincoln, Kaitlyn and the rest of the cast and crew for putting together such an incredible show. Lynden Jarman
as Buttons

Lynden is a 2024 graduate of Heritage Academy Gateway. Favorite credits include: Descendants: The Musical (Jay, GYT) and 13: The Musical (Eddie, GYT), The Sound of Music (Kurt, PTC), A Christmas Carol (Boy Scrooge, HCT) Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Ensemble, HCT) Aladdin Jr. (Aladdin, QCPAC), Hello Dolly (Barnaby, QCPAC) and Grease (Danny Zuko, QCPAC). Lynden plans on attending BYU and serving a mission for his church. He would like to thank his family and friends for all of their love and support and the talented people at Hale for making this an another amazing theatre experience!

Joseph Strode
as Henry / Crutchie u.s.

Joseph is originally from Mississippi where he got his BFA in musical theatre from the University of Mississippi. His past Hale credits include: Titanic: The Musical, My Fair Lady, Bye Bye Birdie, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, and Footloose. Past credits at Places Productions include The Secret Garden and Little Women. Past Ole Miss Theatre credits: Chicago, Assassins, Macbeth and Hair. He would like to thank his family and fiancé for their unbelievable support. 

Cambrian James
Director / Choreographer

Cambrian James is well-known for his versatile staging throughout the Valley and nationally. He is a multi-award winning director and choreographer for Tarzan, The Wizard of Oz, Footloose, Damn Yankees and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Cambrian has enjoyed a long career as an actor and dancer in Annie (Daddy Warbucks), Crazy For You (Bobby Child), The King and I (The King) and Hairspray (Edna Turnblad).

Lincoln Wright
Music Director

Lincoln Wright was last seen on the Hale stage playing the piano for Always... Patsy Cline, Forever Plaid, and Daddy Long Legs. He has music directed over 50 shows at Hale, including Meet Me in St. Louis, West Side Story, Crazy For You, and Hairspray. When not at rehearsal, he's a lawyer with the Udall Shumway law firm in Mesa.
